FAQ

Everything you want to know.

Do I need any technical knowledge?

No. You describe what you want to see in plain language — OpenMaps does the rest. Want to adjust something? Just say it in the chat.

Which data sources can I use?

Hundreds of sources worldwide: Dutch government data (Kadaster, KNMI, CBS), archives (Beeld en Geluid, Nationaal Archief), and international sources like NASA, Wikidata, Eurostat, the World Bank and OpenStreetMap. You can also upload your own files.

Where are my maps stored?

In a data centre in Amsterdam, running on green energy. We are GDPR-compliant and provide privacy documentation.

Who can see my published map?

The published viewer is accessible via a link — to anyone you share it with. You decide when to publish; until then your project stays private.

Does the map work on mobile?
